Lawrence Mzimba, a member of the Shona tribe in Zimbabwe carves these spirit figures as a representation of ancestors which protect and guide the Shona people through life. The Shona believe in “spiral time” where the past, present, and future all exist at once on different planes, allowing them to communicate with their ancestors in the spirit world.
100% natural stone is carved and smoothed with simple hand tools, heated, and polished with clear wax. Handle with care, stone is softer than metals and can be damaged.
