Weaving Baskets in Botswana

Women of the Bayei and Hambukushu tribal groups painstakingly create this art from ‘mokola’ palm tree fiber coil woven around grass or vine. The bark and roots from 2 different trees are used to make the dye colors, as are decomposing sorghum husks and shrub leaves.

I just received my order of 5 Zulu Wire baskets, and I have to say they are FANTASTIC! The workmanship is outstanding. Kudos to those that created such beauty. I just ordered 2 more. Thank you for providing such lovely products and fair-trade practices to the African tribe weavers making them.
