Since wire baskets are woven by many men due to the difficult nature of weaving wire, they are able to stay home on their tribal lands instead of moving to cities to look for work. In the rural groups we work with, the family units are preserved so that the weavers and their families can live more traditional lifestyles.
These baskets are unusual because they are woven from the top down, rather than from the bottom up.
These colors are amazing. I'm sure they are going to fly off the shelves!
No one else has the variety of baskets that you have accumulated. I did my research. And no one else has the consistent quality. People with baskets of their own come up and talk with me and several of the baskets do not have the double strand twist and those that do, do not have the vibrant dyes.
