Women of the Bayei and Hambukushu tribal groups painstakingly create this art from ‘mokola’ palm tree fiber coil woven around grass or vine. The bark and roots from 2 different trees are used to make the dye colors, as are decomposing sorghum husks and shrub leaves.
I love this basket. It is extremely well crafted. It's very strong, sturdy and will last for years. I bought it for my sewing, but you could use it for whatever. I also liked the information about where it came from that was included with the basket. It was well worth the money. I would definitely buy more in the future. These are truly unique baskets. Tyler
I got them today!! They are all totally gorgeous and I love them. I've got three up on a shelf in my utility room with socks and hats and gloves and stuff in and the two big ones will go on another shelf somewhere else, but they're so nice I'm thinking of all the things I want to do with them and where they could go.
