Weaving Nubian Baskets
Nubian refugees in Uganda, Kenya and other countries work hard to preserve their native culture through traditional activities such as basket weaving.
Weavers create these baskets by wrapping palm leaf fibers around a coil of papyrus, then stitching the coils together.

Thank you so much, Baskets of Africa. Your baskets are gorgeous, and you can tell how much time and love have been put into their crafting! I am excited to receive my baskets and fan! Nicole
I received both boxes of beautiful baskets. The 2 Gambibgo Pots are just gorgeous. I love the Mini Yikene Tote and it is a great size to use as a purse. Thank you for packing everything so carefully. I am so very delighted with everything and look forward to shopping with you again in the future. Pamela
All of our African baskets are verified Fair Trade, because we believe that indigenous people around the world should be compensated fairly for their amazing work.
