Weaving Nubian Baskets
Nubian refugees in Uganda, Kenya and other countries work hard to preserve their native culture through traditional activities such as basket weaving.
Weavers create these baskets by wrapping palm leaf fibers around a coil of papyrus, then stitching the coils together.

I saw a woman at the shopping center today with one of your baskets. I couldn't take my eyes off of it - it was so beautiful. She directed me to look up Baskets of Africa and I'm so thankful that you have such a beautiful site! They are so incredibly gorgeous. With the deepest of thanks to the Amazingly Talented and Beautiful hands that made my baskets!!!! Sherri
Thank you!!! I have one of these beautiful baskets and wherever I carry it people tell me how cool it is and ask where I got it. I tell them. I hope they are all buying them from you!!! Maggie
