Weaving Nubian Baskets
Nubian refugees in Uganda, Kenya and other countries work hard to preserve their native culture through traditional activities such as basket weaving.
Weavers create these baskets by wrapping palm leaf fibers around a coil of papyrus, then stitching the coils together.

Package just arrived. Baskets are gorgeous. Black one is very striking, love it. I think the lace beaded one is incredible. So very delicate. It is beautiful. Front and center on my English antique piano from the 1800's. Surrounded by almost all African pieces. It is just lovely. Thank you so much for great service and beautiful items. It is nice that you send the actual piece you show. Thanks for everything. Ann
I’ve been buying these baskets for years now and have a large, wonderful collection. These baskets and canisters are truly magnificent and of more and more excellent, colorful and sophisticated design. They add immensely to any home, whether on the floor, a table, a shelf or on the wall. Having been to these regions In Africa, I can attest to the superb quality of Baskets of Africa. And to the importance of the undertaking this company is doing. Kudos. Nora
