Weaving Nubian Baskets
Nubian refugees in Uganda, Kenya and other countries work hard to preserve their native culture through traditional activities such as basket weaving.
Weavers create these baskets by wrapping palm leaf fibers around a coil of papyrus, then stitching the coils together.

I just want to tell you that the beautiful basket I just received is perfect in every way! I've passed a link to your website on to the buyer of African baskets at my local natural food store. The option you offer for cloth handle baskets is unique and so welcome to us vegans. Can't wait to go to market with this treasure on my arm ;) Carolyn
Thank you for sending my beautiful basket in such a timely manner. I so love these that I posted on my wall to consider Baskets of Africa as gifts. It's amazing. Paula
All of our African baskets are verified Fair Trade, because we believe that indigenous people around the world should be compensated fairly for their amazing work.
