Weaving Bolga Baskets in Ghana
For many generations, weaving has been a traditional skill of the Gurune people of northern Ghana. Mostly done by women, basket weaving and other handicrafts supplement these subsistence farmers’ incomes.
These genuine Bolga baskets are exclusively woven by the indigenous Gurune people around the town of Bolgatanga in Northern Ghana. These baskets in particular were woven from undyed grass.

My highest compliments. What a truly noble endeavor to bring the gorgeous crafts of the people of Africa to grace our lives here in America. I can't describe the feeling of buying something that is made by the hands of people who give, yet who have had so much taken from them. Karim
Thank you for sending my beautiful basket in such a timely manner. I so love these that I posted on my wall to consider Baskets of Africa as gifts. It's amazing. Paula
All of our African baskets are verified Fair Trade, because we believe that indigenous people around the world should be compensated fairly for their amazing work.
