In Rwanda, “the land of a thousand hills”, weavers from many tribes, including the recently warring Hutus and Tutsis, create sisal bowl baskets as symbols of peace, reconciliation, self- reliance and hope.
No one else has the variety of baskets that you have accumulated. I did my research. And no one else has the consistent quality. People with baskets of their own come up and talk with me and several of the baskets do not have the double strand twist and those that do, do not have the vibrant dyes. Carrie
